Surface preparation

Decontamination of the substrate to remove dirt, oils, grease, and salts. Surface preparation in accordance with ISO 8501-1 to a cleanliness level of Sa 2½.

Application of masses

Products Used:
, CORROTHANE XT HA, CORROTHANE XT
, POLYGLASS VEF, POLYGLASS VE VEILCOAT

Coating systems applied:
CXT-1 = 900–1,200 μm DFT (2 × 450–600 μm)
VEF-2 = 1,500 μm DFT (2 × 600 μm VEF + 300 μm VEILCOAT)

Substrate used:
CXT-1: Walls and outlet piping
VEF-2: Bottom and wall up to a height of 0.2 m
stainless steel (hopper), carbon steel (piping), 100 m²

Procedures:

  • Decontamination of the substrate to remove dirt, oils, grease, and salts
  • Surface preparation in accordance with ISO 8501-1 to a cleanliness level of Sa2.5
  • Application of 2 coats of CORROTHANE XT coating
  • Repair of Defective Areas Using CORROTHANE XT HA
  • Application of 2 coats of POLYGLASS VEF coating
  • Application of a Topcoat Using POLYGLASS VE VEILCOAT
  • Carrying out the relevant quality tests according to the PKZ
